Kambi Kwetu holds immense history, as the original tents owned by the legendary UK born Jonny Baxendale were purchased by Kellard Safaris. Jonny was an aviator extraordinaire and supreme conservationist. He worked tirelessly for Kenya’s wildlife alongside the likes of Peter Jenkins in Meru National Park and George Adamson of 'Born Free' and ‘Elsa the Lion’ fame.

The camp holds a massive aura of past and present, custom designed tents by Johnny and his brother (primarily for their own Royal African Safaris) ensures immense detail and perfection. Their pride, passion and motivation in life and safaris throughout Kenya, is told through this undeniably traditional bush home now set in the heart of Laikipia.

Sarah has added various new dimensions to Kambi Kwetu and has strived to model pure authenticity under canvas, to make guests feel totally relaxed and at home on Suguroi Ranch. The team behind this vision have been loyal from the very beginning of the venture, and now play their integral part of looking after you as their own guests.
